Thane: 3 dead, 5 injured after getting stuck in sewage treatment plant

At least three people were killed while five others were admitted to hospital after getting stuck in a sewage treatment plant in Dhokali on Friday.

The deceased have been identified as- Amit Puhal (20), Aman Badal (21), and Ajay Bumbak (24).

Rest five people were successfully rescued by the authorities. They were later admitted to the metro hospital where their condition is said to be stable.

In a similar incident reported from the national capital, two labourers died while cleaning a septic tank in Prem Nagar area of Rohini.

Victims died due to asphyxia while they were cleaning the septic tank in an under-construction building. The deceased were identified as 35-year-old Ganesh Saha, 30-year-old Deepak Lambu.

The three other men who entered the tank to save the deceased were rescued with the help of labourers and other local workers.

They immediately rushed to  Sanjay Gandhi hospital. Deputy Commissioner Police Rohini SD Mishra said that the police has registered a case against the building owner.
