A suicide bomber and extremists armed with rifles and explosives attacked a government building in the Afghan capital on Monday.
According to CBS News, an eight-hour-long siege left 29 people dead and more than 20 wounded. It ended when the three gunmen were killed.

A number of gunmen have entered the compound where an office of the Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Martyrs and Disabled is located, interior ministry deputy spokesman Nasrat Rahimi said.
Several apartment buildings as well as a government public works department building are located in the same eastern Kabul neighborhood where the attack occurred.
