Start up India Conference in New Delhi

Taking forward the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Start-up India” initiative, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) is organising a conference on 23 July 2016. The conference will be chaired by Minister of State for Commerce & Industry, Nirmala Sitharaman. The conference will serve as a platform for all states to discuss the progress, policies and good practices they have made on the Startup India initiative.
According to Press information Bureau of India, “state governments of Telangana, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Kerala and Karnataka would be presenting the initiatives undertaken by them to promote startups”.
Apart from the states Investors, Incubators and several ministries and departments of Government of India, will be participating in discussions on various aspects of the Startup India initiative. While startups will be sharing their growth stories and expectations from the government; main focus will be on access of funds required in different stages of a startup life-cycle.
The conference will discuss the much needed frameworks and models required to provide infrastructure and mentor startups. The aim of Startup India initiative is also to promote financing through banks for various start-up ventures in order to boost entrepreneurship.
