From being a ticket collector in Indian Railways to being India’s coolest captain ever, Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s life has not been easy at all, but after all the hard work the man is getting what he should get in return. On April 2, which by chance happens to be the day India made a historic win after 11 years of hard work when they lifted up the ICC World Cup trophy.

Earlier today, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared the video on micro-blogging site Twitter reigniting the memories of that moment which remains etched into the memory of every Indian cricket fan. Recognising his massive contribution to India cricket, Dhoni is to be conferred with the prestigious Padma Bhushan, the country’s third highest civilian award on Monday.

Talking about the world cup, everyone still has goosebumps, India was asked to chase 275 by Sri Lanka for which they sent their openers Virendra Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar who scored 0 and 18, respectively. Had it not been our Captain Cool, we wouldn’t have rewritten the history. In a memorable final, Dhoni and Gambhir stitched a partnership of 109 runs for the fourth wicket to take India towards the final win.
