Sachin Pilot Launches Day-Long Fast, BJP Terms It As ‘Last Nail In Gehlot Govt Coffin’

Date:

Jaipur: Despite Congress’ warning, senior Congress leader Sachin Pilot on Tuesday sat on a day-long fast at the Shaheed Smarak in Jaipur.

Sachin Pilot’s fast comes as a call for action by the incumbent Ashok Gehlot government against alleged corruption during the previous BJP rule government under former chief minister Vasundhara Raje.

Ahead of the day-long fast, Pilot paid floral tribute to social reformer Mahatma Jyotiba Phule.

Speaking on the ongoing daylong fast by Pilot, BJP leader Rajendra Rathore said “Sachin Pilot has thrown an open challenge to his party high command. His day-long fast will be the last nail in the coffin of the Congress government. Congress has lost its hold across the country.”

He further added “The boycott of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting on September 25 by the Gehlot faction had jolted the high command. And now, they are facing a renewed challenge in the form of this daylong fast by Pilot.”

Earlier on Monday, AICC Rajasthan chief Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa in a statement said that “Sachin Pilot’s day-long fast tomorrow is against the party interests and is anti-party activity.”
