Putting speculation to rest, veteran filmmaker Karan Johar has confirmed that his next directorial venture will star Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma.
Spilling the beans on his upcoming project, the actor-director who has shared the screen with Ranbir and Anushka in Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming directorial venture ‘Bombay Velvet’, shared details of his multi-starrer titled Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. The director was given green signal by his lead cast immediately after he spoke to them.
While Karan decided to cast Ranbir and Anushka after he saw their chemistry in Bombay Velvet, he admitted he has always wanted to work with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan- right from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham to Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. The three confirmed their dates for the project immediately.
Johar, famous for directing movies revolving around romance, says he is treading on a different path with Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which will be an unconventional love story.
“It’s a film that dwells deeply on relationships, heartbreaks and how love completes you, defines you and yet leaves you wanting for more. I have never had, in my entire career, a film that has come to me so fast, so organically and so from within,” he said.
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil will be shot in New York, London, Paris and parts of Delhi and is tentatively slated to release on June 3, 2016.Â
