Pokemon Go becomes the cause of this person’s death

Date:

Well sadly, as much as the game pleases millions, Pokemon Go is certainly the cause of tragedy for others. A teenager was killed and his cousin seriously injured after being shot while playing Pokémon Go in Guatemala.

Jerson Lopez de Leon who was 18 years old died after being ambushed on a street in the town of Chiquimula. He was with Daniel Moises Picen, 17,

As many as 20 bullet casings were found at the scene of the murder where the two were hunting for exotic creatures for their game.

Some local reports say that these two children were walking along the railway line when bullets rained down on them from a passing vehicle.

Police are looking for the occupants of an agricultural van which was seen racing from the scene.

The police say that they are unsure of the motive, however they have speculated the attackers probably were involved in a bungled mobile phone robbery.

Jerson died in hospital. His cousin is being treated for gunshot wounds to his feet.

The dead man’s mother Rosalinda said: ‘I don’t know why my son left the house. He was already in bed when his cousin sent him a message asking him to go out and download a game a few blocks from the house.’
