Pepsi, the company known for aerated soft drinks, has entered the smartphone market with its P1 budget handset.
Pepsi P1 comes in two versions – the Pepsi P1 which supports only TD-LTE band and P1s that supports FDD-LTE as well.
The Pepsi P1 comes with 5.5-inch Full HD screen with 2.5D curved glass design and runs on the company’s proprietary dido OS, which is based on the Android 5.1 build. It is powered by an octa-core Mediatek MT6592 processor and 2GB RAM and comes with 16GB of internal storage.
Pepsi P1 sports a 13 megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and 1/3.06-inch lens, whereas the front camera has 5MP resolution. The device is packed with 3,000mAh battery and 4G connectivity. Pepsi P1 also has a fingerprint sensor.
The new Pepsi P1 is a low-cost affair and is being sold as a crowd-funding project on China’s JD.com for around $110 (700 yuan). Once this stock is exhausted, the buyers will have to shell out 999 yuans (approximately Rs 10,350).
