Noida: 25 Year Old Dies After Drowning In Water Park At GIP Mall

Noida: A 25-year-old youth died on Sunday afternoon due to drowning in the water park of The Great India Place (GIP) in Sector 38. Dhananjay Maheswari, a resident of Adarsh Nagar in Delhi, has been identified as the deceased. Maheshwari had respiratory problems while sliding; he was brought to Kailash Hospital and later declared dead.

Noida ADCP Manish Beshra said that on Sunday around 1:30 PM, Maheshwari along with his four friends had come to the waterpark inside GIP mall located in Sector 38. He added that as Maheshwari followed his friends for sliding he experienced discomfort. Police officials further added that he sat on the ground to rest but was not feeling better and was taken to a nearby Kailash hospital by an ambulance by GIP mall authorities where he was declared dead by the doctors.

After receiving the information the police promptly arrived at the hospital and the mall to start an investigation into the incident. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Manish Mishra on the cause of death of Dhananjay said that they have initiated legal proceedings and the body has been sent for autopsy after which the reason can be confirmed. He added that further investigation is underway keeping all aspects in mind. The postmortem examination of the body is being conducted, he added in the end.
