The World Cup semi-final between the Netherlands and Argentina went to penalties on Wednesday after regulation and extra-time ended goalless in Sao Paulo.
The two sides went into football’s record books for the wrong reason as this was the first ever World Cup semi-final to end 0-0 after 120 minutes.
The match was a major anti-climax after Germany’s 7-1 hammering of Brazil on Tuesday with star strikers Lionel Messi and Arjen Robben both kept in deadlock.
The winner faces Germany in Sunday’s final in Rio de Janeiro’s Maracana stadium.
