Maruti Suzuki Swift 2018 booking opens: This is what you need to know before reserving one

Date:

Since the next Maruti Suzuki Swift is all set for launch, a few dealerships had already started accepting pre-orders of the car. Maruti Suzuki dealerships have officially opened bookings for the new Maruti Suzuki Swift 2018 and it can be booked for a token amount of Rs. 11,000.

Potential buyers can reserve their Maruti Suzuki Swift 2018 through Maruti Suzuki’s official page to e-book it. The buyer will be required to fill their name, email ID and phone number for an OTP. Then they will receive a call from Maruti’s team to take the process further.

The Swift will inherit some of the similarities from the current Dzire. The next generation Swift will come with all black finish in the interior space and the sporty new tail light. Certainly, the car will have a distinct road presence. Since there is a lot of hype around the car, bookings are expected to skyrocket in coming months.

Maruti Suzuki Swift 2018, apparently the most awaited car of the year, is scheduled to be launched in India at the Auto Expo next month. However, the production of older model has been stopped to make way for the new Swift. It is expected that the car will arrive at the dealership by the end of February or at the beginning of March. Possibly, the waiting period would be three to four months.

The new Maruti Suzuki Swift 2018 will come with the fifth generation HEARTECT platform which was seen in the Baleno and the new Dzire. The platform offers sturdier construction even as maintaining a better power to weight ratio.

The new car will have a revamped front fascia sporting a new single-frame grille, and bug-like headlamps replacing the angular ones that are seen in the previous model. The front headlights will have projector LEDs with daytime running lamps, and the rear gets LED taillights. New alloys, floating roof design and new front and rear bumpers are included in the new car.

Perhaps, the new Swift will hold on to the same engine options from the outgoing model. The Maruti Suzuki Swift 2018 will have either 1.2-litre K12 petrol engine or 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine. The petrol engine will churn out the power of 84.3PS at 6,000rpm, a torque of 115Nm at 4,000rpm, whereas the diesel motor will put out 75PS of power at 4,000rpm and 190Nm torque at 2,000rpm.

Either of the motors will come along with a five-speed manual transmission and Auto Gear Shift, Maruti’s own AMT unit. The Smart Hybrid Vehicle System (SHVS) technology will be incorporated in the diesel engine.

The new Swift will sport a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a flat-bottom steering wheel, among other changes. While terms of safety front, the dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and ISOFIX will be standard across all trims.
