Mamata Banerjee slams BJP, says it is targeting the Missionaries of Charity

Kolkata: In an extremely shocking revelation of a child trafficking racket at a centre of the Missionaries of Charity in Ranchi. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has backed the religious congregation in the matter and accused the BJP.

Issuing a tweet, the Trinamool Congress supremo said that a malicious attempt was being made to malign their name and that the BJP ‘wants to spare no one. She wrote, “Mother Teresa herself set up Missionaries of Charity. And now they are also not being spared. Malicious attempts to malign their name. The Sisters are being targeted. #BJP want to spare no one. Highly condemnable. Let MOC continue to do their work for the poorest of the poor.”

Crucially, the West Bengal CM has offered no evidence or reasoning for backing the Missionaries of Charity and on accusing the BJP.
