For the first time in the Indian Army, a woman judge has been appointed. Lieutenant Colonel Jyoti Sharma has been appointed as the Female Judge Advocate General Officer of the Indian Army. Jyoti Sharma will serve as a military law expert to the government of the East African country of Seychelles.
A new chapter has been added to the Indian Army on this day. For the first time in the Indian Army, a woman judge has been appointed. Earlier, no female judge was appointed in the Indian Army. Lieutenant Colonel Jyoti Sharma has been appointed as the Female Judge Advocate General Officer. Jyoti will look at matters related to foreign countries.

Who is a judge advocate general officer
In India, the post of Judge Advocate General Officer is given to the Lieutenant General of the Army. He is the legal and judicial head of the army. The Judge Advocate General of the Indian Army is a separate branch which consists of legally qualified army officers. Judge Advocate General Officers provide legal assistance to the Army in all aspects.
