Aizawl, Sep 7 (PTI) Paying rich tributes and homage toSaint Teresa of Calcutta, Mizoram Chief Minister Lal Thanhawladescribed her as one of the greatest humanitarians of the 20thcentury, an official statement said here today. Lal Thanhawla, who was the chief guest at the "BlessedMother Teresa Canonisation Celebration" function in theeastern metropolis last evening, spoke of her humility, pietyand faith, her life and her unconditional love, devotion andservice for the unloved, the uncared and the unwanted, thestatement said. He said Mother’s canonization was matter of greatpride not just for the Christian community but for the entirecountry and also for the people of Kolkata – her chosen home.The function was inaugurated jointly by former Chief Justiceof India Justice Atlamas Kabir and former West Bengal GovernorJustice Shyamal Sen, Kolkata Archbishop Thomas DÂ’Souza,Missionaries of Charity Superior General Sister Mary Prema,representatives and leaders from other faiths also attendedthe function.
