Kidnapped 17-year-old boy found murdered

Chandigarh, Sep 10 (PTI) A 17-year-old boy who waskidnapped for Rs 20 lakh ransom allegedly by his classmate andaccused’s cousin was found murdered today in Karnal, policesaid. The accused, aged 19 years and 22 years, were arrestedtoday after the boy’s body was recovered from near a canal inKarnal, said Karnal SP Pankaj Nain. "The victim, a Class XII student from Nilokheri, waskidnapped on Thursday evening for Rs 20 lakh ransom," he said,adding investigation is under progress. He said the body bore injuries from a sharp-edged weapon. The victim’s family had met Nain today to trace the boy.Shortly after which the recovery was made. The victim had gone to Karnal on Thursday, but did notreturn till evening. When his family called on his mobilephone, it was received by someone else who threatened to killhim if the ransom was not paid, the SP added. PTI SUN ANB RGSMJ
