And now, get ready for the next twist in the house—a new contestant entering the show. And who might this be? It’s none other than the sensational K-pop star, Park Min-jun, popularly known as Aoora.
In a recent promo, the South Korean singer was spotted performing the Hindi song “Wo Kisna Hai.” Even with only a partial view of his face, fans managed to deduce his identity through his voice and fleeting glimpses. Towards the end of the video, Aoora says, “Janam se videshi, lekin dil se ek dum desi, aa raha hu mai India ke sabse happening house mein [Born abroad, but with a totally desi heart, I’m coming to the most happening house in India.]”
Aoora was part of the boy group Double-A and its subunit Aoora&Hoik. He entered the music world on September 4, 2009, with the track “Love Back.” Transitioning to a solo career, Aoora made his debut on March 28, 2014, with the digital single “Body Part.” In addition to these, he lent his voice to tracks like “69” (2013), “Morning, Lunch and Dinner” and “Coffee” (2016), as well as “Black Sugar” (2022).
Last year in September, his rendition of Swag Se Swagat achieved a million views. During the same month, the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department revealed plans for him to hold a series of concerts throughout India, marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between India and South korea.
Aoora has uploaded several videos on his Instagram page, showcasing him singing Hindi songs. He also shared several pictures documenting his travels in India. Recently, he teamed up with singer Honey Singh. Sharing a video of the duo singing, Aoora wrote, “Music has no boundaries. It was so much fun and honour to sing with my favourite Yo Yo Honey Singh @yoyohoneysingh. How do you like this Kpop Punjabi Mix.”
