IWD SHOCKER: Men in blue to be paid 1400% more than Women’s team

Date:

As we celebrate Women on International Women’s Day, there couldn’t be a better time to point out to the discrimination in Cricket.

According to data perused by NewsMobile, the men in blue make over 1400% more than the women in blue who represent India in international tournaments.

The BCCI should have tried to overcome this, but the gap has only widened with the men team getting a huge hike.

What men’s team is getting:

What women’s team is getting

This means while the men’s team skipper Virat Kolhi will earn ₹7cr (annually), women’s team skipper will Mithali Raj will just get ₹50 lakh (annually).

From women’s team skipper Mithali Raj, Jhulan Goswami, Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana have received Grade A contracts.

In other words, if we look at the above figures even the Grade C of the men’s team is going to earn exact double of what the Grade A of the women’s team.

Grade C category of men’s team consists of Kedar Jadhav, Manish Pandey, Axar Patel, Karun Nair, Suresh Raina, Parthiv Patel and Jayant Yadav.

While the most of the media outlets are busy analysing that MS Dhoni will be paid less than Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar or Shikhar Dhawan got 1300% hike.

BCCI need to explain this inadequate move. Women’s team works equally hard to make the country proud as much as men’s team do, so why such discrimination.

Last year Indian team was the finalist in the Women’s World Cup held in England. It’s not like men’s team is doing any less but the women’s team need to be compensated equally for the equal efforts they are making to make India proud.
