Indians Advised To Leave Ukraine Temporarily

Date:

Taking cognizance of the uncertain situation in Ukraine, Minister of State for External Affairs, Meenakshi Lekhi, has assured Indians in Ukraine that the Indian government would provide all assistance required as the threat of a Russian invasion looms large in the country.

The Indian embassy is working in full swing and that assistance will be provided to everyone who needs it, she added.

“We have issued an advisory. This is the latest information I have. Through the advisory, people will get the right message. Our hotline and email are working. Our embassy is working in full swing. Whosoever needs assistance, will get it. Be it evacuation or anything else,’’ she said.

In an advisory, the Indian Embassy in Ukraine has asked all Indians to avoid non-essential travel to and within Ukraine. The Embassy has asked Indian nationals in Ukraine to consider going back home and to stay in touch with the embassy.

“In view of the uncertainties of the current situation in Ukraine, Indian nationals in Ukraine, particularly students whose stay is not essential, may consider leaving temporarily. Indian nationals are also advised to avoid all non-essential travel to and within Ukraine,’’ the Embassy said.
