Eden Hazard’s phenomenal run from his own half that ended in Chelsea’s second goal was one of the best goal ever scored in PL. Arsenal’s defense was clueless about what hit them as Hazard zigzagged through them giving glimpses of the legendary Maradona goal against England in the 1986 World Cup. Cesc Fabregas came on to add a third on 85 minutes, capitalizing on Petr Cech’s poor pass, while Olivier Giroud got a late consolation for Arsenal. The win extended Chelsea’s lead over Arsenal to 12 points, although second-placed Spurs reduced their league advantage to nine points later in the day.

Liverpool traveled to Hull City desperately needing a victory in PL, which has eluded them in the new year 2017. Hull City might be struggling in the relegation zone but Goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic, who was the “Man of the Match”  in the last game against Manchester United, was at his best to deny Liverpool any goals. Hull led on the stroke of half-time through Alfred N’Diaye, who poked the ball in after Simon Mignolet failed to deal with a header. But Hull secured the points when, with Liverpool pouring forward, Oumar Niasse powered through on the counter to slide the ball under Mignolet.
