What is your favourite modern or ancient WORLD WONDER? * Shortly after my trip to Jordan, I was very lucky to be invited to go for a 10 day trip to China. That way I saw one (pictured here) of the 7 modern World Wonder after another (Petra). It was very cold (late March) & very windy (see my hair) but despite being by The Great Wall only for a short time we witnessed this incredible sunset 😍😍😍 on our last day in China. * PRACTICAL TIP: I will repeat as people do not believe me: go off season & The Wall has some sections EMPTY even during the day 😱. This part is owned by The Commune by The Great Wall hotel that was also eerily empty when we stayed there. So plan ahead & you may be able to sleep till 10 am 😃😴 * Dress appropriately! My hiking boots were very useful! (& so elegant 💃🏻🥾💃🏻) * * * #thegreatwall #chinadestinations #visitchina #chinatravel #adventurevisuals #adventurethatislife #exploretocreate #freedomthinkers #folktravel #keepexploring #liveauthentic #lifeofadventure #optoutside #voyaged #femmetravel #girlsborntotravel #girlswithgypsysouls #sheexplores #thetravelwomen #wearetravelgirls #girlsvsglobe #iamtb

The authorities proposed an idea to combat overcrowding and planned to set up a daily limit of 65,000 visitors to the popular destination every day. The quota came into effect by June 1, 2019. As per statistics, the Badaling section received around 10 million visitors last year.

When you plan to visit the destination, the authorities will keep visitors notified of the congestion at the Badaling section.

Also, they have put up some crowd management and control mechanisms at the area to ensure the free flow of the public. There are three levels of warning—a yellow warning when the number of visitors reaches 39,000 per day, orange warning for 52,000 visitors and a red warning when the number of visitors strikes 65,000.
