Azad on Monday took it to Twitter to make the announcement saying that he felicitated Congress president Rahul Gandhi in the traditional Mithila style.

Reportedly, Kirti Azad was supposed to join the Congress last week but it was postponed due to the terrorist attack in Pulwama, in which 40 CRPF jawans were martyred.
“Met Rahul Gandhi ji,” Kirti Azad had tweeted. “It was rightly decided that in a mark of respect to the martyred soldiers of Pulwama my joining the Congress will now take place on February 18.”
“We will be in a state of mourning for 3 days; [the] country is bigger than a person or party and soldiers are supreme,” he said.
