New Delhi: In a chilling incident, Suchana Seth, the CEO of an AI startup in Bengaluru, was apprehended on suspicion of murdering her four-year-old son at a service apartment in Goa. She was intercepted attempting to escape in a cab, carrying the child’s body concealed in a bag. The police suggested a potential motive involving her “estranged relationship” with her husband.
Seth had stayed at a luxurious apartment in Candolim, North Goa, checking in on Saturday and departing on Monday morning.
Who Is Suchana Seth?
Suchana Seth, the founder of The Mindful AI Lab, has steered the organization for over four years, focusing on AI advancements. Prior to this role, she served as an affiliate at the Berkman Klein Center for two years in Boston, Massachusetts, contributing extensively to the ethical aspects of AI governance and responsible machine learning.
Before establishing The Mindful AI Lab, Seth held the position of Senior Data Scientist at Boomerang Commerce in Bangalore. During this tenure, she specialized in designing data-centric products for price optimization and intelligence, resulting in the filing of two patents. Her prior experience includes involvement with Innovation Labs, where she worked as a senior analytics consultant within the Data Sciences Group.
How Was Suchana Seth Caught?
Suchana Seth was apprehended in Chitradurga district, Karnataka, about 200 kilometres away from Bengaluru after staff members at Sol Banyan Grande discovered bloodstains during room cleaning, prompting them to alert the authorities.
Police officers located the cab and, in an effort not to alarm Suchana Seth, conversed with the driver in Konkani, steering him toward a police station.
