Kolkata: Just a couple of weeks after a woman in Delhi alleged that a TaxiForSure cab driver masturbated while driving her home, a similar incident has been reported, but this time in Kolkata.

The woman, working in a mall in south Kolkata, filed a complaint in Bhawanipur police station that accused the driver of masturbating while driving her from Elgin Road to Netaji Nagar in Tollygunge in the evening on July 8.

She alleged the driver deliberately took a detour instead of a shorter route. When she protested, the driver allegedly threatened her. The driver, Pintu Yadav, was produced in a court on Tuesday following which he was granted bail.

Charges under sections 356 (outraging modesty of a woman) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC have been slapped on Yadav, police said.

It bears mentioning that Uber has been embroiled in a number of incidents including rape of a woman by a driver in Delhi last year.
