Brief spell of rains bring temp down in Patna

Patna, Sept 16 (PTI) A brief spell of moderate rainfallbrought the temperature down in Patna while light to moderaterainfall was reported from a few places in north west, northeast of Bihar, MeT Department said. Very light to light rainfall occurred at one or twoplaces in rest of the state except south central where weatherremained mainly dry, it said. Among the four major cities of the state, Patna receivedrainfall of 25.6 mm today (8:30 am to 5:30 pm) while Gaya,Bhagalpur and Purnea received no rainfall, MeT office said. Bhagalpur registered 4.1 mm of rainfall while Purnearecorded 5.4 mm rainfall in past 24 hours (from yesterday 8:30am to today’s 8:30 am), it said. Purnea was the hottest place in the state which recordedthe maximum temperature of 35.7 degrees Celsius followed by35.6 degrees Celsius each at Bhagalpur, 34.7 at Gaya and 33.4in Patna, MeT office said and added that rains made theweather uncomfortable for Patnaites due to increased humiditylevel. In its forecast for the next 24 hours for the state,the MeT department has forecast more rains for tomorrow. Patna and Purnea are expected to witness generallycloudy sky with moderate rain tomorrow while Gaya andBhagalpur may witness generally cloudy sky with light rain. Highest percentage of humidity was recorded at 91 inPurnea. It was 87 per cent in Bhagalpur while 74 per cent eachin Patna and Gaya. PTI AR MDIKA
