New Delhi: The 16th World Book fair themed “Kathasagara: Celebrating Children’s Literature” is taking place at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi from February 15 to 23.
Poland is the guest country along with 25 other nations participating. Poland pavilion offers many exciting books including: “It’s a Strange World: 20 Illustrators from Polandâ€, showcasing illustration for children. They have also launched Hindi translations of four books including “Little Chopin” on the legendary musical genius of Poland, exhibitions about Polish reporter Ryszard Kapuscinski, and a book on Krakow a Unesco city of literature.
The other attractions include, a specially curated exhibition “A Tale of Tales” a talk about children’s literature in Indian languages across six categories- “Myths, Legends and Folktales”, “Storytelling tradition in India”, “Epics and Classics Retold for Children” “Towards Freedom”, “Tales for a new nation” and “Tales Todayâ€. Manga comic books, Amar Chitra Katha, Tintin and puppet books are widely loved books available at the book fair.
A special Authors Corner at the Book Fair is expected to see over 300 authors including a few Bollywood personalities like Karisma Kapoor, Dipti Naval and Kunal Kapoor along with well-known authors.
