Bengaluru based agri-tech startup TartanSense gets 15 crore funding

Date:

Bengaluru based agriculture robotics startup TartanSense acquires a sum of Rs 15 crore from its investors Omnivore Partners, Blume Ventures, and BEENEXT, as per reports.

The startup is developing robots for small farms, leveraging AI-assisted computer vision and robotics to build precision sprayers. The benefit would be that robots will be able to spray on targeted plants with precision, detect diseased plants and weeds, and help cut the cost on as well as leave less chemical residue on eatables. The company plans to partner with local agents and local businesses to offer the robot as a service for farmers.

“We are democratizing technology to small farm holders that has historically been available to large farms in the west by focusing on affordability and portability,” said Jaisimha Rao, Founder and CEO of TartanSense.

India has a huge agriculture base and a market worldwide with around 156 million hectares of arable land which is the largest in the world as per World Bank.
