Apple Launch Event: iPhones 15 Series, Watch Series 9 Launched

New Delhi: Apple’s eagerly anticipated ‘Wonderlust’ event arrived on Tuesday, unveiling the iPhone 15 lineup and the introduction of the Apple Watch Series 9. Apple took the wraps off its newest addition to the wearable family, the Series 9.

Apple CEO Tim Cook During the Apple launch event officially announced the upcoming release of new iPhone models and the latest Apple Watch models. In addition to this, Cook revealed that the Vision Pro headset is scheduled to be shipped in the coming year.

iPhone 15 and 15 Plus
 

The iPhone 15 has been officially unveiled, boasting notable features like the Dynamic Island notch, a powerful 48MP camera, enhancements to portrait mode, and night mode. Meanwhile, the larger iPhone 15 Plus will offer these same features but with an expansive 6.7-inch display.

Apple has introduced a fresh SoC for its highly anticipated iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models.

These smartphones are now equipped with the advanced Bionic A16 SoC, previously seen in the Apple 14 Pro series. This upgraded chipset not only enhances performance but also brings improved connectivity and extended battery life to the table.

Notably, the iPhone 15 has made a shift to USB-C charging, departing from the traditional lightning port.

The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are available for a base price of $799 and $899, respectively.

iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max



Apple’s latest ‘most Pro’ iPhones sport titanium bodies, new colours (sans gold), triple rear cameras, USB-C charging, and ultra-thin bezels on their displays. 

The display sizes remain the same – 6.1 inches for the iPhone 15 Pro and 6.7 inches for the iPhone 15 Pro Max, with tougher glass.

The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max retain their design but bring significant upgrades, including an A17 Bionic chip with ray tracing, USB-C for faster charging, a durable titanium body, thin bezels, high-refresh-rate displays, and a customizable action button for an enhanced and personalised user experience.

Both the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max feature a remarkable 48 MP primary camera. These cameras have been fine-tuned with enhancements like improved fogging and ghosting protection and intelligent AI tweaks to deliver stunning photos.

Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the upgraded optical zoom capabilities. These phones can now zoom up to 5X with a 120mm focal length, enabling richer portrait shots.

In addition to the primary camera, there’s also an ultrawide camera on the rear. This offers versatility and is particularly great for capturing captivating macro shots.

Apple has revealed the pricing for its latest iPhone 15 Pro models. The iPhone 15 Pro starts at an attractive $999, while the larger iPhone 15 Pro Max comes in at $1199.

Apple Watch Series 9

Apple has just revealed the latest iteration of its smartwatch, the Apple Watch Series 9. This cutting-edge timepiece boasts the all-new S9 chip, assuring users of a remarkable 18-hour battery life and an array of enhanced health-tracking capabilities.

Furthermore, the device will come preloaded with WatchOS 10. Notably, Apple is introducing the innovative U2 chip, designed for ultrawide functionality, which will elevate the Find My feature and facilitate seamless connectivity with various Apple devices, including the HomePod.


Apple has introduced an official FineWoven material for their Apple Watches, which not only replicates the look and feel of leather but is also crafted from eco-friendly materials.

Furthermore, the Watch Series 9 incorporates sustainable materials such as recycled aluminium, reclaimed gold, tin, and copper.

Notably, it marks the debut of recycled cobalt in its battery composition.
Apple also reiterated its pledge to sustainability by announcing the discontinuation of leather cases, effective this year. Additionally, the company unveiled its new Carbon Neutral logo, which will adorn the product packaging.

As for the Apple Watch Series 9, it comes with a starting price of $399 for the GPS version and $499 for the cellular model.


Apple Watch Ultra 2

Alongside this, Apple has unveiled the Apple Watch Ultra 2, featuring fast charging, 3000 nits of brightness, an enhanced flashlight, new gestures, precision iPhone locating, and an action button. It’s priced at $799.
