Date:

Srinagar, Sep 7 (PTI) The All Party Delegation (APD),which visited the unrest-hit Kashmir this week, achieved"nothing" and there is "no sense of urgency" to control thesituation, National Conference leader and former ChiefMinister Omar Abdullah said today. "I’m struggling to find a single achievement that the allparty delegation can lay claim to after visiting J&K. Nothingcomes to mind as yet!" Omar tweeted. His tweet came shortly after the members of thedelegation, which was headed by Union Home Minister RajnathSingh, met in New Delhi to discuss the outcome of the two-dayvisit on September 4 and 5 to Kashmir. The delegation issued astatement, appealing for peace in the Valley. Omar said if the delegation had to issue just an appeal,it could have done it without visiting the Valley. "If all they had to do was issue this tame & sterileappeal they could very easily have done so without wasting thetime and money on a visit," he said. "75 people have died, 1000s of civilians & securitypersonnel have been injured and there is no sense of urgencyin getting a grip on things!" he added. A unanimous statement of the APD released appealed to thepeople of the state to shun the path of violence and resolveall the issues through dialogue and discussion. Earlier, Omar asked Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to ownthe "responsibility" for the current situation in the Valley. "It’s time for @MehboobaMufti to stop blaming everyonearound her & take responsibility for mess J&K is in," Omarsaid. He was commenting on Mehbooba’s statement yesterday inwhich she had blamed separatists for the continuing violence.PTI SSB MIJ DIP AKKAKK
