ABCD 2 becomes second biggest flick of 2015

Date:

Mumbai: After ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’, which got good reviews at the BO, it was now the turn of ‘ABCD 2’ to join the league.

The BO collections have crossed the Rs 100-crore mark and added special feathers in the career caps of both Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor, besides ushering them into this exclusive club.

Every actor waits for the day when their film reaches to such a big mark as they really work hard for it.

‘ABCD 2’, a Remo D’Souza dance film, collected almost Rs 102 crores which is in its third weak. The film collected Rs 14.3 crore on June 19, beating ‘Gabbar is Back’, ‘Baby’, ‘Piku’, ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ and ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’.

About the film

This is the first time that Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor have been seen in a dance-based flick. The film also features Lauren Gottlieb and dance guru Prabhudheva. The film is based on a true story which revolves around the journey of an Indian dance troupe and their journey to regain fame after experiencing sudden downfall.

Comparison

Till now, ‘ABCD 2′ has recorded the highest opening weekend collection with Rs 46.32 crore, followed by Akshay Kumar’s ‘Gabbar is Back’ which made Rs 39.41 crore and Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ and Priyanka-Ranveer’s ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ which made Rs 38.15 crore and Rs 37.05 crore, respectively.

But when it comes to total, ‘ABCD 2’ becomes the second highest grossing movie of 2015 which minted Rs 102 crore just below ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ that made 150 crore net.
