Moto X4 6GB to be launched on Feb 1, Oreo likely to debut in India

Moto X4 will see its third variant getting launched on February 1. The smartphone currently has two variants in RAM—3GB and 4GB. The latest one will sport 6GB of RAM and is expected to run Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box.


 

Motorola has teased the launch on Twitter with a post that says that the new variant will be “faster, smarter and sharper”. With Android 8.0 Oreo, the Moto X4 will get features like Background Execution Limit, Picture-in-Picture mode, a new set of emojis, and Notification Channels. Motorola India already started rolling out the Android 8.0 Oreo update to the Moto X4 older variants as well.

Moto X4 specifications

The smartphone comes with IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. In terms of design, the smartphone features an anodized aluminium frame, and 3D contoured front and back glass design.

The smartphone flaunts a 5.2-inch LTS IPS Full HD display with pixel density of 424ppi. The display is covered with Corning Gorilla glass protection. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 octa-core SoC clocked at 2.2GHz.

On the camera front, the smartphone features two 12-megapixel dual pixel sensors with f/2.0 aperture in a dual-camera setup, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle sensor with 120-degree field of view, f/2.2 aperture. The dual-camera combination helps to shoot photos with DSLR-like ‘Bokeh’ effects. Up front, the Moto X4 is equipped with a 16-megapixel snapper with flash, and f/2.0 aperture.

The smartphone is backed by a 3,000mAh battery with fast charging support. On the connectivity front, the smartphone comes with options like USB Type-C port, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, GPS, GLONASS, dual SIM card support with 4G VoLTE.
