RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav is getting lauded on social media for his heroic phone call to the District Magistrate of Patna.
A video of Tejashwi is going viral. In the video, he can be seen talking to a top official in support of the Teachers’ protest. The leader had joined the agitation in Patna when he was told the protesters had been denied permission for a sit-in at their planned venue.
Yadav then dialed Patna District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh to seek assurance that the protest would be allowed.
Here are the excerpts of the conversation.

“There has been lathi charge, their food has been thrown away, they were driven away… Now, some are here with me at ECO Park. All they want is to be allowed to protest,” Yadav said, adding that he would “WhatsApp their application.” The DM was oblivious of the fact that Tejashwi Yadav had dialed him.
“Kab tak bataiye (When will you do it?)”
The officer, rattled by this time, shot back: “Kab tak meaning? You will question me?”
The RJD leader replied evenly: “Hum Tejashwi Yadav bol rahein hai, DM sahab (This is Tejashwi Yadav speaking).”
A pause, then an instant change of tone.
“Achha sir, sir, sir (Ok, sir),” Mr Singh said, as the protesters burst into laughter.
Tejashwi Yadav has always been at the forefront and has never shied away from public demonstrations against CM Nitish Kumar. Speaking to the media about the protest staged by the teachers over the recruitment process, he said that the High Court has directed the government to give appointment letters to teachers at the earliest, their number is about 94,000. He also alleged that the government is rigging the appointment.
