FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the above post and found the claim to be FAKE.
On running a keyword search, we couldn’t find any credible report from any media agency supporting the claim.
Upon checking the Passport Seva Kendra website, we did not find any notification by the Ministry of External Affairs which is responsible for the issuance of passports in India.
On further investigation, we noted that Nationality is still being asked in the passport application form that is available on the Passport Seva Kendra website.
Moreover, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Anurag Srivastava also confirmed to NewsMobile that Centre has made no changes in the Indian passport.
This proves that the claim is FAKE.
