The number of people who have tested positive for the new UK variant of SARS-CoV-2 in India has climbed to 141, the Health Ministry said on Tuesday.
It also said, “One of 2 vaccines is given emergency use authorization under clinical trial mode. In a document for this vaccine, it’s mentioned that if there’s causal relation b/w immunization & adverse event, severe or serious, hospitalization cost would be borne by authorities.”

Meanwhile, India on Tuesday reported 10,064 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours taking the tally of overall infections in the country to 1,05,81,837. This is the lowest daily count in seven months. Moreover, 137 deaths were reported in the same period, taking the overall fatality count to 1,52,556.
Meanwhile, amid reports of side effects, Bharat Biotech on Tuesday issued a set of cautionary guidelines for people with certain conditions who, it said, should consult with their vaccine provider and preferably avoid getting the Covaxin shot.
The company has shared a fact sheet, according to which those suffering from allergies, fever, or a bleeding disorder, among other conditions, should take advice from their doctor/vaccine provider, and possibly steer clear of taking the Covaxin shot.
A total of 3,81,305 beneficiaries have so far been vaccinated, said the government on Monday. It added that 580 adverse events following immunisation were also reported in the country.
States and Union Territories (UT) were advised to conduct COVID vaccination sessions four days a week to minimise disruption of routine health services.
