Mohit Goel, who founded Ringing Bells, the company that launched the world’s cheapest smartphone ‘Freedom 251,’ has been arrested by the Noida Police on charges of defrauding dry fruits traders to the tune of Rs 200 crore.
As per the police, Mohit, along with five of his accomplices, was running a dry fruit business under the name of Dubai Dry Fruits and Spices Hub. The company’s office was set up in Noida Sector 62.

The Police took action on the company after around 40 complaints of fraud were filed against it by traders belonging to Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, and a few other states.
The Noida Police, on Sunday, arrested Mohit along with one of his accomplices Omprakash Jaangid. The police recovered two cars, 60 kg dry fruits, and some documents. Efforts are on to arrest the rest of the accused persons.
