1. India reported 18,139 new COVID-19 cases, 20,539 discharges, and 234 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per Union Health Ministry Friday morning update. The total number of confirmed cases now climbed to 1,04,13,417, including 2,25,449 active cases, 1,00,37,398 discharges and 1,50,570 deaths.

3. Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan, “In a short time, India has done well by developing vaccines… In the next few days, in the near future, we should be able to give these vaccines to our countrymen. It will be given to our healthcare professional followed by frontline worker.”
4. Flight operations from the United Kingdom to India resume on Friday, while the flights from India to the UK resumed from January 6.
5. Delhi Government has ordered re-opening of medical colleges under the UT Govt with immediate effect, following a reduction in the number of COVID-19 cases in the national capital and assessment of the current situation. The medical colleges will be reopened by observing social distancing and SOPs.
6. Delhi reports 486 new COVID-19 cases, 780 recoveries and 19 deaths on Thursday, as per Delhi Health Department. Total cases: 6,28,838; total recoveries: 6,14,026; death toll: 10,644; active cases: 4,168.
7. Maharashtra reported 3,729 new COVID-19 cases, 3,350 discharges, and 72 deaths on Thursday, as per State Health Department. Total cases: 19,58,282; total recoveries: 18,56,109; total active cases: 51,111; total Deaths: 49,897
8. Karnataka reported 761 new COVID-19 cases, 812 discharges, and seven deaths on Thursday. Total cases: 9,24,898; total discharges: 9,03,629; death toll: 12,131; active cases: 9,119.
9. Tamil Nadu reported 805 new COVID-19 cases, 911 discharges, and 12 deaths on Thursday: State Health Department. Total cases: 8,23,986; total discharges: 8,04,239; death toll: 12,200; active cases: 7,547
10. Andhra Pradesh reported 295 COVID cases, 368 recoveries and one death on Thursday. Total cases 8,84,171; total recoveries 8,74,223; death toll 7126; active cases 2822.
