Georgia certifies Biden’s victory, Michigan backs President elect too

Joe Biden

Michigan has backed United States President elect Joe Biden’s victory and stated that they would not would warrant reversing the outcome of the vote in that state. Top Republicans legislators said they have no such information to suggest the same.

“We have not yet been made aware of any information that would change the outcome of the election in Michigan and as legislative leaders, we will follow the law and follow the normal process regarding Michigan’s electors, just as we have said throughout this election,” Read a statement by the Oval Office.

To add to this, a day earlier, Georgia certified Biden’s victory and these come as a huge blow to the Donald Trump camp that is trying hard to establish through lawsuits that the November 3rd election results are faulty. Georgia has not been won by a Democrat since 1992. The Secretary of State’s Office website showed Biden winning the state by 12,670 votes.

“The numbers reflect the verdict of the people, not a decision by the secretary of state’s office or courts, or of either campaign,” Said Raffensperger, a Republican and Trump supporter.

According to the Electoral College system, which determines who becomes president, Biden’s votes are projected to be 306 to Trump’s 232 and Biden is far above the 270 mark that is needed to win. The US Presidential elect’s lead in the public vote overall stands at more than 5.9 million.

Nationally, Biden won nearly six million more votes than Trump, a difference of 3.8 percentage points, but it is the electoral college votes that are most important.

Time is running out and come January 20th, Biden takes charge officially as the 46th US President. As options are narrowing down for Trump, his legal team is brainstorming to see how the incumbent President is reinstated for another term in the White House.

One of their strategies is to convince legislatures controlled by fellow Republicans in key states to ignore the November 3rd voting outcomes and declare Trump the victor. Biden on the other hand, has the statistics, majority electoral votes and popular votes too to cruise his way into the White House.
