With 43,893 new COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours, India’s total cases surged to 79,90,322 on Wednesday. While the death toll mounted to 1,20,010 after 508 new deaths reported in 24 hours.
Now the total active cases are 6,10,803 after a decrease of 15,054 in the last 24 hours, while the total cured cases are 72,59,509 with 58,439 new discharges in the last 24 hours.
– has got approval for phase-III trials, ICMR DG Balram Bhargava said on Tuesday. Covaxin is being developed by Hyderabad based pharma group, Bharat Biotech. “Covaxin has successfully completed its phase I and phase II of clinical trials, it will be in the third phase of trials as they have get approval for it,” Bhargava said.
