The nine-day long Navratri celebrations have begun across the country, however, it’s going to be a low-key affair this time due to the coronavirus outbreak. Despite this, people are in high spirits and are all set to offer prayers seeking the end of the pandemic.
Temples have made special arrangements for facilitating safe and easy darshan for devotees keeping in mind the pandemic situation. Some temples have installed sanitisation tunnels, thermal scanners, etc. for ensuring everyone’s safety.
However, most states have not allowed Garba events, which are the main highlight of Navratri. Nevertheless, devotees have not let their enthusiasm drop.
Here are the visuals from different temples across India on the first day of Navratri:
1. Jhandewalan Mandir, Delhi
2. Vaishno Devi Mandir (J&K)
3. Mumba Devi Mandir, Mumbai
4. Vaibhav Lakshmi and Durga Mandir, Kanpur
5. Kalka Ji Mandir, Delhi
6. Kali Mandir, Gorakhpur
7. Durga Mandir, Varanasi
Despite being celebrated in the shadow of COVID-19, Navratri still seems to be full of hope and light.
