It was just another normal day in the life of Kanta Prasad and his wife Badami Devi, who sell home-cooked food from a tiny shop in South Delhi’s Malviya Nagar. However, the elderly couple’s fate changed overnight after a video of them narrating their plight with tearful eyes went viral.

Now, Zomato has come forward to help the elderly couple and has listed Baba Ka Dhaba on their platform.
“UPDATE: baba ka dhaba is now listed on zomato and our team is working with the elderly couple there to enable food deliveries thank you to the good people of the internet for bringing our attention to thi,” Zomato tweeted.

The couple had been selling home-cooked meals for 30 years, making just enough money to buy raw material for the next day’s menu or sometimes not even that. The story of their enhanced struggle due to the coronavirus pandemic went viral and several people came out in support of them.
It all started after a food blogger posted a video of the elderly couple on Wednesday. After that, Twitter user Vasundhara Tankha Sharma shared the video on the microblogging site, where it captured the attention of several Twitterati.

By morning, #BabaKaDhaba was trending on Twitter, and their small shop was flooded with customers.
