SSR Case: Rhea Chakraborty’s judicial custody extended till Oct 6, actor files bail application in Bombay HC

On Tuesday, a special NDPS court extended the judicial custody of actor Rhea Chakraborty till 6th October. Rhea’s 14-day judicial custody was slated to end today

Lawyer for the siblings, Satish Maneshinde said that both Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty have now filed bail applications in the NDPS case before the Bombay High Court. He added that it will come up for hearing on 23rd September and the details of the applications will be shared after the hearing.

Rhea was arrested in connection with a drug-related case in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. Apart from Rhea, over 12 people including her brother Showik Chakraborty have been arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).

Rhea was arrested by the NCB on September 9 after being questioned for three days regarding the drug abuse case. She was then remanded to 14-day judicial custody.
As per the NCB, WhatsApp messages retrieved from Rhea Chakraborty’s mobile phone indicate that she used to arrange drugs for Sushant.

As per reports, Rhea has named Bollywood actors Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, and Rakul Preet Singh during questioning in the drug case.

Rhea Chakraborty, however, has denied the allegations levelled by the Narcotics Control Bureau that she is an active member of a “drug syndicate”.

Meanwhile, the agency has summoned the CEO of KWAN Agency, Dhruv Chitgopekar, and Sushant’s manager Shruti Modi to appear for questioning. As per reports, Deepika Padukone’s manager, Karishma Prakash, who works with KWAN, has also been summoned by the NCB. Sushant’s former talent manager, Jaya Saha, who was questioned for four hours on Monday, has also been asked to report to the NCB today.
