Rahul takes a dig at PM Modi’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ call, launches fresh attack

As the Parliament Session resumed after a coronavirus induced hiatus and Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked the MPs for choosing duty over the pandemic and said he hoped for a productive Monsoon Session, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi launched a fresh attack on the PM on Monday.

Taking to Twitter, Rahul, who has been extremely critical of the governmental’s handling of the pandemic, said citizens have to “save their own lives because PM is busy with peacock” amid sharp surge in coronavirus cases.

Taking a dig at PM’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ call, Rahul said, “India’s coronavirus cases will cross 50 lakh this week and active cases will cross 10 lakh. Unplanned lockdown was the gift of one man’s ego, which led to the spread of coronavirus across the country. Modi government said “be self-reliant (atmanirbhar)”… which meant “save your own lives” because the Prime Minister is busy with peacock.”

Attacking PM Modi over spike in COVID-19 cases and accused the Centre of implementing lockdown without a plan, Rahul also referred to a video PM shared last month on his official Instagram handle showing PM spending time with peacocks at his Lok Kalyan Marg residence.
