After threatening to ‘expose’ CM Uddhav Thackeray, Kangana sharpens attack with ‘gundagardi’ jibe

A day after Shiv Sena run Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) demolished “illegal portions” of actor Kangana Ranaut’s Mumbai office in Bandra’s posh Pali Hill area, Kangana lashed out at Uddhav Thackeray and said people of Maharashtra condemn the ‘gundagardi’ by Maharashtra government. The Bombay High Court incidentally stayed the demolition and sought a reply from BMC. In wake of the developments, the actress has been accorded Y-plus category of CRPF security by the the Union Home Ministry.

Meanwhile, as her sister Rangoli Chandel reached the Bandra office on Thursday to take stock of the situation, the three-time National Award winning actress put out a series of tweets to vent her anger at at the Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress government. Kangana has been at loggerheads with Sena leader Sanjay Raut ever since she described Mumbai as PoK prompting Raut to launch a scathing attack on her asking her not to return to Mumbai.

“I especially want to make it clear that the people of Maharashtra condemn the hooliganism done by the government. Many calls are coming from my Marathi well-wishers, there is sadness in the heart of the people in the world or Himachal Pradesh. Do not think that I do not get love and respect here,” Kangana tweeted.

BMC on its part pointed out that there were 14 violations which included a toilet converted to an office cabin, illegal pantry area on the ground floor, wooden partition in living room and a devitation in the sanctioned position of the main gate among other irregularities.

The Bombay High Court headed by a bench of justices SJ Kathawalla and RI Chagla told BMC that the demolition ‘smacks of malafide’. “The manner in which BMC proceeded to commence demolition work prima facie does not appear to be bonafide (in good faith) and smacks of malafide (dishonest intentions),” the division bench observed.

In Thursday’s developments, two complaints have been filed against Kangana for using foul language against the Maharashtra Chief Minister. The complaint refers to a video message circulated by the actress on social media on Wednesday where ‘inflammatory and derogatory words’ words were allegedly used. In doing so, the actress supposedly ‘tried to diminish the character and challenge the dignity’ of the Chief Minister of Maharashtra according to the Police.

The exact comment by the actress was, “Uddhav Thackeray, tujhe kya lagta hai (what do you think?) That you colluded along with the film mafia, demolished my home and took revenge on me? My home was demolished today, your arrogance will crumble tomorrow.”

Kangana had earlier expressed her gratitude to scores of people who offered her shelter and food. The actress said, that many spoke her offering help over phone and that she believes that the rich culture and heritage of Maharashtra should not get tainted because of the “black designs” of Maharashtra government.

Threatening to expose Uddhav Thackeray and film maker Karan Johar, Kangana had put out a tweet on Wednesday saying, “Come UdhavThakeray and Karan Johar gang. You broke my work place come now break my house then break my face and body, I want world to see clearly what you anyway do underhand, whether I live or die I will expose you regardless.”

Accusing Shiv Sena of becoming ‘Sonia Sena’, Kangana said in an earlier tweet on Thursday morning, that the ideals with which Balasaheb Tackeray had formed the party have vanished.

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) President Sharad Pawar meanwhile had a word of advice for ally Shiv Sena which runs the government in Maharashtra and termed the demolition move as ‘unnecessary publicity’ for the actor. Pawar met Uddhav Thackeray at his residence on Wednesday and reportedly expressed his disapproval over BMC’s move in the demolition drive.

Kangana has been making startling revelations in recent weeks in the backdrop of Sushant Singh Rajput’s unnatural death which is being probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).

Rajput’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty have already been arrested by the NCB in connection with procurement of drugs in the case, even as investigators are attempting to zero in on a larger drug racket in Bollywood which Kangana has been exposing in her media interactions.
