Even as the raging coronavirus pandemic forces Ganesh Chaurthi celebrations indoor, there is no let up in the festive spirit.
Nandini Vignesh, a Chennai woman, decorated her house with coronavirus-themed Ganesha. She also collected thousands of Ganesh idols for the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.
“We started collecting Ganesha idols & now we have 3500 idols at home. We travelled to many places to collect idols,” Nandani told news agency ANI.
Nandini’s Corona-themed Ganesha not only paid tribute to COVID-19 warriors but also spread awareness to the general public. The idol can be seen holding a mask, medicines, sanitiser and disinfected in its hand, giving out a message to practice precaution.
Covid-19 has called for the imposition of various restrictions, which have made many of us appreciate the little things in life. Several people have become environmentally conscious and have come up with various eco-friendly ideas to celebrate festivals. Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations have become the latest to join the eco-friendly festival club.
