Union home minister Amit Shah on Friday confirmed that he has tested negative for coronvirus disease (Covid-19) infection and will follow home isolation for few days on the advice of doctors.

“Today my corona test report has come negative. I thank God and at the moment I express my heartfelt gratitude to all those who blessed me and my family by wishing me well. Will stay in home isolation for a few more days on the advice of doctors,” Shah tweeted.


There has been a setback in the health of Playback Singer SP Balasubrahmanyam, who had been admitted at MGM Healthcare for symptoms of COVID-19 since 5th August said sources from MGM Healthcare, Chennai to ANI.

Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan has stated that the COVID-19 recovery rate is improving in the country with each day.Speaking at the inauguration of a blood donation camp at the All India Institute Of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the national capital he also expressed hope that the war against the pandemic will be won soon.

Speaking on the increase in the number of tests, he added, “Yesterday, we tested over 8 lakh patients, which was huge compared to April when we tested 6,000 patients. Our COVID warriors are fighting very hard to control the pandemic. Am sure in the next two months the situation will be far better.”

In  the latest update, Malappuram district collector and 22 officials, who were working under him during rescue operation of Air India Express plane crash in Kerela, have tested positive for coronavirus. On Thursday night, the district police chief also tested positive.

The health condition of former President of India Pranab Mukherjee continues to remain very critical, but it hasn’t worsened, confirmed his daughter Sharmistha Mukherjee here on Friday morning.
She further said there is a little improvement in his eyes’ reaction to light. Sharmistha also expressed her gratitude towards well-wishers. “

India reported 64,553 fresh COVID cases and 1007 deaths reported in the last 24 hours. The total confirmed cases in the country now climbed to 24,61,191, including 6,61,595 active cases, 17,51,556 discharged/migrated and 48,040 deaths, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

On the global front, the number of coronavirus cases recorded so far has passed 20.7 million, according to Johns Hopkins University COVID tracker. There are now 20,778,947 cases worldwide and 753,283 have died so far. However, more than 12.9 million have recovered from the virus.
