Congress General Secretary, Priyanka Gandhi and Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, were in a ‘Twitter War’ on Tuesday over the eviction notice that has been served to Gandhi for her Lutyens’ bungalow occupation.

In a tweet, Puri stated that a ‘powerful Congress leader’ requested him to allot the Lodhi Estate residence (where Gandhi currently resides) to another Congress leader so that she can continue to stay on.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has called such reports as ‘fake news’. The Congress leader said that she has not requested anyone to talk to the government for an extension and said any such reports are baseless and wrong. She further said that she will vacate the house by August 1.

”If someone called you Mr Puri, I thank them for their concern, and thank you for your consideration as well but it still does not change the facts: I have made no such request, and I am making no such request. As I said, I will be vacating the house by the 1st of August..,” she tweeted.

The war of words did not end here, with Puri, retweeting – ”The leader who called me and many others, is at the very top of the Congress hierarchy…the same political advisor who speaks and acts on your family’s behalf. It was when he requested that we decided to give a two-month extension in good faith.”

This came after some reports emerged on Monday that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has got an approval from the PM’s office for her current resident, 35, Lodhi Estate bungalow in New Delhi.
As she is no longer covered under the Special Protection Group, she was asked to vacate the house.
