India reported 551 deaths and the highest single-day spike of 28,637 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
According to the Health Ministry Sunday morning update, total confirmed cases in the country now climbed to 8,49,553. There are now 2,92,258 active cases and 5,34,621 people have cured/discharged/migrated. The death toll now stands at 22,674.
Most of the infections have been reported from Maharashtra, which has the highest number of Covid-19 cases in the country with 2,46,600.
Globally, there are more than 12.68 million infections and 564,506 deaths. However, 6.9 million people have been recovered from the virus, according to Johns Hopkins University’s coronavirus tracker.
