IIM Calcutta has announced that its upcoming academic term starting August will operate in online mode. new as well as returning students of the flagship MBA program will attend classes digitally from the safety of their homes. IIM faculty will conduct classes using iPearl.ai, a digital learning platform offered by TalentSprint, and students will attend the entire term in a direct-to-device mode.
On-campus activities were suspended throughout the lockdown period.
The previous academic term ended abruptly in March and students went home when the lockdown was announced. Steps were taken to conduct the remaining classes using web conferencing tools, the statement added.
Many leading business schools in the world including Harvard, Stanford and Columbia in the US have moved to online classes in the aftermath of the outbreak of corona pandemic. In India, schools and colleges have not been allowed to hold physical on campus classes yet.
