India witnessed yet another biggest ever single day spike with over 8300 cases in 24 hours. Several states have extended their lockdowns and laid down new set of guidelines.

Here are the top 10 developments in India this Sunday-

1. Indian reported its biggest ever single-day spike with 8,380 new cases and 193 deaths in 24 hours. The tally now stands at 1,82,143 while the death toll touched 5,164.

2. Delhi-Noida border to remain sealed; in 42% of the cases, source of infection has been tracked to Delhi: Gautam Budh Nagar Administration

3. 13 deaths and 1295 new COVID-19 positive cases reported in Delhi today, taking the total number of cases in Delhi to 19,844 and death toll to 473.

4. 2,487 new COVID-19 positive cases and 89 deaths have been reported in Maharashtra today, taking the total number of cases in the state to 67,655. The death toll stands at 2286.

5. Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, have extended their lockdowns till June 30 with new guidelines and relaxations.

6. 168 new COVID-19 positive cases reported in Haryana today, taking the total number of positive cases in the state to 2,091.

7. In the last 24 hours, 31 deaths and 438 new COVID-19 positive cases reported in Gujarat. The total number of COVID19 cases in the state is now 16,794.

8. Uttrakhand chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and several state ministers have been placed under home quarantine on Sunday after Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj, who had attended a Cabinet meeting on Friday was hospitalised with coronavirus disease COVID-19.

9. Show cause notices have been issued to AIIMS-Delhi, Lok Nayak hospital, RML hospital and Safdarjung hospital to explain the reasons for the delay in reporting COVID-19 death cases.

10. Indian Railways will start operations of 200 passenger train services from 1st June. More than 1.45 lakh passengers will travel on Day 1. At 09.00 hours today, the total booking of passengers was 25,82,671.
