The global number of novel coronavirus cases has passed 5.25 million with more than 339,000 deaths.

1. More than 5.28 million people around the world have been been infected with the coronavirus to date, according to Johns Hopkins University. More than 340,000 people have died globally, while more than two million people have recovered.
