A loud booming sound and reported tremors in many parts of Bengaluru sparked fears of an earthquake amongst the city residents.
The loud boom was heard in many parts of the city. However, it was most prominently heard in the Whitefield areas and parts of South-East Bengaluru.
The officials of the Karnataka State Disaster Management Authority have ruled out the occurrence of an earthquake. The sensors did not record any intensity which is measured during an earthquake.
The authorities did not confirm whether this was due to flight testing done near HAL.
